Man, I've been waiting for this for a year. Pretty disappointed. I give it a C. I'm a fan of the original short story, but even a bigger fan of the 1980s Twilight Zone episode loosely based on it, starring Mare Winningham, which I felt to be truly chilling and twisted.

OK, so its day 7 of NaNoWriMo and I'm chugging on quite nicely. At 19,000 words, I am above the daily target which I am happy about. The only thing, is finding the time to actually sit down and write. With kids and housework, and everything I have going on with House of Horror including the Duel and the Best of 2009 anthology, it is just so tiring! I managed it lasy year and...

I was disappointed by this. I wanted it to be funnier. It's very well acted with a few genuine laughs -- but even the laughs feel "easy" in some way, without the cleverness that you'd expect from a Catch-22-type film about the government looking into paranormal powers. It's mildly enjoyable -- I give it a C+ -- but I was disappointed nonetheless.

I've got Issue 1 of Thrilling Tales quarterly (It has Commando Cody on the cover). Was Issue 2 ever released? At the back of Issue 1 there's an ad for Issue 2 being available in Spring 2009.
