I think it started in the '70s, and was massively overextended (All sorts of spin offs and continuations and preludes and crap like that) by the time it
finally finished twenty years later. Are you thinking of the repackaging of the core story by Epic in the mid '80s?

Sure! Wendy and Richard Pini self-published the series to great success. It became the cornerstone of their publishing company. I know it's been optioned
as an animated film at least once but I think that creative differences sunk the project. Or one of a million other things that can sink good movie projects.

That was my first introduction to fan-fics...
I was in JR High and my chemistry lab partner was just obsessed with them. He always wanted me to read the story he'd wrote that was "gonna get made into an issue!" and drew them all the goddamn time. God I hated him. I hated him so bad I hate ElfQuest by association. I should look him up and run him over with a car.
Pain is weakness leaving the body, and trust me, there's been times when weakness was taking a train.
And running me over with it as it left. |

I would LOVE to meet the Pinis. And yes, the EPIC version of the 80's, Dominic.
I remember owning that one, but originally based off a 70's one... Wasn't the 70's version black n white though?
