I just finished the titular novella, which is the first thing I've read by Ligotti. I loved the prose style, and found myself re-reading sentences here and there for the sheer appreciation of it. The bleak view of existence expressed also resonated greatly with me, leading me to think, 'Yep, here's a guy who gets it.' Yes, this probably means I have problems. Anyway, it was a fairly meaningful reading experience to me. Who else liked it, and who's a fan of Ligotti generally? Who hates the guy's guts? Who has something interesting to say about him and his work?
