Trailer available on YouTube. I actually thought that it was a REMAKE when I saw the trailer.
Looks freakin' abysmal.

The writers/producers should be ashamed of themselves for demeaning the original.

I don't get the hatred whenever the trailer is brought up. It's just over a minute long and doesn't give a plot or anything worth judging it by, so
how can anyone tell if it's good or not? And Shoemaker spoke of his desire for a sequel that never came (Lost Girls) so it's not like they never wanted
one.

It's a very busy trailer, and I admit the "Seriously, we're vampires" line is pretty lame and not a good sign if that's the best they
could pick from, but it looks like cheesy fun.
I'm looking forward to saying hello to Edgar Frog again, and I have to admit the title music made me shiver. |

LOL - I'll still see it. I loved Lost Boys when I was growing up. Even if this is terrible, I can't let it go by without seeing it!

I'm ashamed to say I will see it. And Corey Feldman deserves better work. But hey, maybe it won't suck too badly, right? I mean, I saw LOST IN SPACE in
the theater, and I survived...

If it is to pay any kind of tribute to the first, I expect cheesy lines. After all, the first was full of 'em, and I loved it!
Going from memory: "Oh shit, it's the attack of Eddie Munster!" "My own brother, a goddamn shit-sucking vampire! Oh, you wait 'til Mom finds out." "First come, first staked." "Oh great, the blood-sucking Brady Bunch." "Death by stereo!" "One thing about Santa Carla I never could stomach: All the damn vampires." |

Good one Jerrod. Ah, so many memorable lines.
"Kill your brother. You'll feel better." "She's one of them! And don't tell me it doesn't make her a bad person." "You don't like rice? Tell me Michael, how can a billion Chinese people be wrong." "What did you stuff for her? Mr. Johnson?" |

It worried me that they remixed the theme song. It was an awesome soundtrack for the original. If musically they are rehashing, then what are they going to do
plotwise? And from the trailer, the FX after the line "seriously , we are vampires" looks like crap.
Just my two cents. I will see it, but I will go in expecting crap (less potential for disappointment that way!) JimmyZ |

That seems to be the cool thing, these days. It's like people jump to see a movie, already judging it to be bad. Why is that? There were tons of cheesy
crapfests through the 80s especially, but people loved them. Now, everyone expects to hate movies from the get go.
True, there are a lot of genuinely shitty movies out there that just can't be enjoyed no matter what. But with all the movies coming out at once, it's to be expected. Still, why would someone waste so much money on a movie ticket when they don't intend to even give it a chance? Why not save your money for a root canal instead? |

But Jerrod, a root canal is more horrifying than some bad films...
Seriously, it's a good question you raise. It may have something to do with how those of us who remember the "cheesy crapfests" of the 80s were young and easily pleased. We're older and, I guess, have developed some taste or at least been exposed to more varieties of quality (or the lack thereof) in cinema. I'm talking without coffee in myself yet though, so I may be off-base here. I do have to say, however, that I've sometimes paid money to see a film I was prepared to hate. Constantine, for example, or The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. This was because I liked the source material so much that I couldn't bear to forever wonder whether or not the respective film adaptations would be good. In the case of the former, my zero expectations made me enjoy it a bit, but it certainly didn't work for the latter. |

I blame Family Guy for my curiosity on this. There was that episode where Stewie posed as a student and one of the things he claimed necessary to fool the
other kids was to say everything is lame. And that seems to be the case even with younger people. I'm not ranting or anything, and I'm not speaking
about anyone here. I find it all interesting.
As a general observation, it just seems that a lot of folks these days want to be the first to see a movie, only so they can be the first to blog about how much it sucks. And the movie might not even be that bad. It kind of reminds me of some metalheads I used to hang with. You could mention a band that they hadn't even listened to, and they'd say it sucked because they felt cooler doing so. |
