It could be that maybe say the author signed a mass market pb deal and once the copies that are put out by Permuted are sold out than it is a limited edition. I won't go pointing fingers, but maybe I can help clarify. A limited edition is described as such when announced, usually for collecting purposes. It will only have a set number of copies. Ever. What's being described here is JOHN DIES AT THE END's current edition going out of print. That doesn't make said edition limited. Just makes it out of print. I own a copy of Hum's ELECTRA 2000 on CD. It's not in print anymore. Doesn't make it a limited edition. It just means new copies aren't being printed. All that said, best of luck to David Wong. He's basically saying that there's going to be a finite copies of this edition of JOHN DIES AT THE END out there. Legally, that would make it limited. Not rare - or valuable -- but limited. But honestly, I don't see anything being claimed falsely here. I thought it was going to be something funnier though, suggesting maybe a special "John Lives at the End" edition!
