This Sunday, after a nine-mile hike to the summit of Little Pisgah Mountain not far from Bat Cave, NC (yes, there's
really a Bat Cave, NC). That's me on the left, my hiking pal Jack Thyen on the right.

These photos are great.
Michelle, you have a real knack for nature shots. If anybody is looking for flat, drive the highway between Fargo and Bismarck/Mandan North Dakota. I never knew there was so much nothing in the world until I saw it. (But it's nice when the fields of sunflowers are blooming.)

From two weeks ago. Taking a 120-foot shower in the tallest waterfall in DuPont State Forest (near Brevard NC). You
can't see all of the falls, aptly named High Falls, but it is 120 feet tall. A great place to shower in the midst of a hot day of hiking.

Is that water cold?

John Morrissey wrote: It's not as cold as I thought it would be. However, the rocks were so slick it was exceedingly difficult to move around when you hit the water. I can well understand why so many people are killed mucking about at the tops of waterfalls like this one.

I really like this recent pic of me...upclose--maybe a little too upclose, heh--but it has something to it...
Plus I love black & white photos (I can showoff the freckles, lol)

This is a photograph of my twin boys Edwin & James sitting on the controversial "Scallop" sculpture on Aldeburgh beach.

This wasn't the sort of gift wrapping I had in mind when the shop assistant asked!

Michelle: the second sunglasses pic seems to have this neat perspective that makes it look like a crab...cool.

It looks like DF is going to turn around any second and give us the history of that area like a BBC documentary narrator. Cool.
Or flash us. |
