Novella Announcement -- "The Watching" |

I'm excited to announce that my novella "The Watching" will be released in 2009 from Bad Moon Books. Formats will be in
Hardcover Limited Edition and trade paperback. It takes place with Halloween as a backdrop, and I've received a blurb from the very talented Al
Sarrantonio, who has been an inspiration to my writing.

Thanks guys. It's my first long work of supernatural/horror, and I write primarily short stories, so it's a major achievement for me to keep focused on
my own writing for so long.
T.M., I haven't really come up with any descriptive synopsis yet, but I'll give it a try here... The setting is a small rural town, where a young girl lives by herself, the survivor of a mysterious tragedy which took her family from her. She lives in seclusion, trapped by the shadow of her past which remains nearby and keeps her from reaching out to others on several levels. When Tim, a childhood sweetheart, stops by and asks her to the annual Harvest dance, she feels a spark of life which has been extinguished for the past few years. She's torn between pursuing a desire to reconnect with Tim and the outside world, or maintaining her self-imposed exile, fearing catastrophic consequences for anyone who comes into contact with her. Vague description, but it's basically a mix of supernatural horror with a bit of romance thrown in. Atmospheric and creepy, based on a very short story I wrote a while back and expanded on, the original slated for publication in comic form at some point in time, without giving further details. Paul. |
