I'd give it a 8.5 out of 10. The two villain approach didn't present the normal problems but the movie plays long. The Hong Kong sequence could be removed without any impact to the story. Ledger rocked but I was more impressed with Eckhart's work with Harvey Dent. Very solid flick. Live Journal

I wouldn't cut a second of it. Then again, my tastes are questionable at best. I do own a Sha Na Na greatest hits CD.

Ledger is so good at his role, you don't even recognize him. His movements, voice and face hide all inclinations of an actor underneath. Hard to believe this is the same guy from " A Knight's Tale." The movie is incredibly faced paced and violent. The Joker is hilarious, disturbing, evil, and raunchy. My favorite scene was the Prison scene and when they were interogating the joker. It was ingenius and evil. In many ways, the film seemed like a horror film combined with a crime drama. Not a comic book film at all really. Keep it Brutal

Watching Batman Begins again, right now, which also used two villains perfectly, imo. Then we'll watch that new animated one, Gotham Knight, to further prepare for the new one. Yeah, we're geeks.

And I think the Harvey Dent role was played perfectly. This movie, with it's focus on dualism and choosing sides, really did an excellent job bringing the Dent story to the forefront. You really don't get the implication of his "White Knight" role until the end and it is tragic. A wonderful comic book movie but an even better crime movie. I won't tack on to the comment on Ledger's performance. It lives up to the hype.

Only to learn shortly thereafter, the Anime DVD's bridge the gap between the end of Begins and the beginning of TDK. Keep it Brutal

Had the same tone as the first one yet was slightly different. Had some surprises. Ledger was brilliant. Found the story disturbing, in that the whole "real world" angle was played out very well because there are people out there with extremem personalties. Very plausible in that regard. Action: great. Music: Always good (though for the Joker theme, I originally thought the theatre was having sound trouble). Solid flick. Still not sure if I like it the same or more than the last one. I figured it would be like Animatrix (cool but each part completely separate) but I enjoyed it way more. For one thing, all the different parts were connected like a full movie, and it was every bit as dark and deep as Batman Begins. I'm really glad I watched it before seeing Dark Knight. The animation was stellar, too. Well worth the price.

Sometimes (even in the final comments at the very end) the dialogue was buried under the music. And I hated the "Batman voice," which sounded like Clint Eastwood with laryngitis--made me snicker every time Batman spoke, which I don't think was the intent.
