Solow, I loved A Prayer for the Dying but the cover creeped me out so bad I gave the book away. That guy is scary! Now that there's a paperback edition
with a different cover, I might replace my copy.
I'm almost finished with Stone's Fall by Iain Pears, a cleverly plotted tale of financial chicanery in the UK in the late 1800's/early 1900's. It's excellent. |

Try his LAST NIGHT AT THE LOBSTER. Nothing scary about that cover but it's a really good story. |

RADIANT DAWN by Cody Goodfellow - I was finally able to pick this up, as well as RAVENOUS DUSK, at CryptiCon Seattle 2009 (which yours truly did panle
moderation and film programming for, what a blast!) Cody and Skipp were guests of the con, and a couple of my favorite people there all weekend. I of course am
realllly digging the hell out of RADIANT DAWN. Cody, if you are reading this, man...I don't wether to say "Lay off the medication" or "Take
ore! Take more!"
Also on the pile is SCREAM QUEENS OF THE DEAD SEA by Gilad Elbom. - Anybody read this yet?

Wow, lots of good ideas stuff here to read,as usual!
For instance I'm DYING to read that new Marshall Smith,BAD THINGS.But can't find it anywhere... Also have to order the PILO FAMILY CIRCUS,the sample I read online seemed really well written. And I MEANT to read that SLEEPER novel too. How's it doin Monkeycat? As for right now I'm in the middle of a dense narrative called,THE BESTIARY.No, not that pulp novel.(Although I liked that one too!)This one is more literary, with a hint of magical realism. It's by Nicholas Christopher. I guess I have an affinity for anything that comes under that title! Or any book that has to do with fantasical beasties! |

Finished Handling the Dead by John Ajvide Lindqvist, author of Let the Right One In. Zombie novel. Not as good as Let the Right One In but not bad at all.
Also, just finished Brian Evenson's novel Last Days which includes earlier novella "The Brotherhood of Mutiliation" and adds a second part to it. Intro by Peter Straub. Really good and creepy. And fast-moving.
