I was disappointed by this. I wanted it to be funnier. It's very well acted with a few genuine laughs -- but even the laughs feel "easy" in some
way, without the cleverness that you'd expect from a Catch-22-type film about the government looking into paranormal powers. It's mildly enjoyable -- I
give it a C+ -- but I was disappointed nonetheless.

While I don't usually go by my local paper's reviews, I lost all interest in this after reading 2 really negative ones yesterday.

That's a shame. The book and documentary on which it is based (The Crazy Rulers of the World - it's usually available in bits on the Internet, it used
to be downloadable from Google Video) are both excellent.
If you're interested, I suggest you track down the documentary. It's very, very weird...

Maybe they should have changed it to "Men Who Stare at Goths", it might have been a better movie.

I thought the trailer looked pretty good actually, but I had already read the screenplay, which is almost unbearable.
