My short story, "Everybody Wins" has been picked up by Paul Leyden for a short Indie film he plans to shoot in June and air at Sundance plus other
festivals.
Yeah, yeah....no money to speak of and who cares....a very nice calling card.
He is fronting the money for the production, he has a producer here in NY, he has signed and I quote " Michelle Monaghan has committed to the role of
'Sally' and Danny Aiello to the role of 'Mr Vinny' (although between you and me I am going after Steve Buscemi...")
He is a straight up guy, so I imagine that Danny Aiello said yes if he could not get someone else...but as he mentioned, either way, "Everybody
Wins." (LOL)
I am still pinching myself....because I cannot believe this guy found me, found my story published in THESE GUNS FOR HIRE. Kudos to Joe Konrath....

Wow, congrats! That's cool.
And Michelle Monaghan is pretty hot. Either Aiello or Buscemi would probably be good, they're both excellent actors.

<<no money to speak of and who cares>> Well, you should always care. It takes money to make a movie, even an indie project, and if there are major names involved there's a chance it'll make some cash along the way, and you certainly deserve your piece of the action.

Well, he mentioned splitting prize money down the line, but until all details are worked out and the movie is actually done, I'm sort of holding my breath....you never know...but with a little luck it will get made, etc. Thanks so much for congrats and good advice. |
