Mike Philbin wrote: Once again, you're using the word wrong. Eugenics does not mean "negatively-affecting the global population." It means breeding humans
selectively for "desired" traits. I think the concept you're looking for here is population reduction, but then again, it's damn difficult to
find out what the hell you're going on about 90% of the time.
I'm going to go on ahead and pretend to agree with you on the whole "aspartame is dangerous" thing. And I'll agree that it's in a lot of different foods, because that is a fact. So, how are you going to "neuter" certain lineages when the entire population is eating it? Oh, yeah. You can't. The "poison" is either going to effect the population equally, or damage some people who are more susceptible to it. there's no direction to it. You aren't selecting for anything, expect maybe a resistance to aspartame. There for, it's not eugenics. Population control, maybe, or just plan mass murder, but it's not eugenics. I mean, if aspartame were all that dangerous, which it isn't. |

Please tell me you're kidding when you talk about aspartame and methanol poisoning. I ran some figures for my own amusement and curiosity and the results
are pretty funny.
The average fatal dose of methanol for a healthy adult is 100-120ml but as cases of permanent blindness/death have been reported at doses of 6-10ml we'll use the lowest figure for our initial calculations. Aspartame is measured in mg so first we have to convert our Methanol dose to mg, the density of methanol is 791.3mg/ml this gives us a lethal dose of 4747.8mg of methanol. Roughly 10% of aspartame is broken down to methanol so to achieve our fatal dose of methanol we would need to consume 47478mg of aspartame. One litre of aspartame-sweetened soda contains 600 mg aspartame, so to gain our lethal dose we would need to drink 79.13l of diet soda, even drinking a 2l bottle a day we wouldn't reach that in a month and that's using the lowest possible fatal dose of methanol. At the average range we'd need to drink 1318.83-1582.60l of diet soda to get our fatal dose. And of course that doesn't take into account the fact that the human body is capable of handling methanol, as it's produced naturally within ourselves as well as occurring in certain fruit juices. It's only when we come into contact with higher than usual concentrations that we have trouble with it. Admittedly aspartame isn't completely harmless but it's a potential negative effect for those with PKU, as when it breaks up it produces phenylalanine and those with PKU have to keep a careful eye on their phenylalanine intake. It's why in both the US and UK products containing aspartame are supposed to have a warning label informing people about the phenylalanines. So unless the evil overlords are trying to wipe out PKU for some reason, and they don't have much chance with aspartame as it's a recessive genetic disorder, then I don't see how it would be classified as a eugenics drug.

Sweet is good, right? There have been documented cases of near-blindness, over-sensitized immune system and the onset of Alzheimers that have been CURED by coming off the aspartame. C.U.R.E.D. Hyperbole and paranoia don't win debates.
You say there have been cases where people have been cured of various ailments by stopping aspartame, are they documented? If so you can surely provide links unless they're as spurious as the "Nancy Markle" research into the subject. As for the FDA regulation, well they are the Food and Drug Administration and regularly provide recommended daily allowances for substances as part of a healthy diet. So I think it's safe to say they ran some tests before authorising its use, and with all the added controversy aspartame has undergone additional testing that has satisfied the majority of the scientific community and 90 odd countries. As for your claim that I'm someone old with a new face, I do believe it's innocent until proven guilty, not to mention I don't have to prove who I am to you. However if the moderators/admins are concerned about it then I will happily provide them with whatever information is necessary to validate my identity. |

The problem that most of us have with your posts Mike, (if I may presume to pronounce for others as well as myself), is that every week you rush in here
telling us that the sky is falling down. Sometimes you even give deadlines, which pass without anything happening. To move from Chicken Licken to another
fable, the more you cry wolf the less likely it is that anybody's going to take you seriously.
All kinds of shit goes on that needs to be highlighted, but your propensity to believe any half-arsed story you come across on the net marks you out as a fool. Now, it may be that you're correct with some of your conspiracy theories (the odds are that you must be right sometimes?), but how are we going to notice the important announcement you might one day make when you've been posting such crap for so long? Please feel free to ignore this post, just as you do any posts that might require you to actually think for yourself rather than just cut and paste a ludicrous bit of kookery from elsewhere. All the best Ray |

The closest is this,"If I am a regional Fed bank president, I have had my power diminished a lot," said Ethan Harris, co-head of U.S. economic research at Barclays Capital Inc. in New York, who used to work at the New York Fed. "I think of it as war powers for the Board of Governors." Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

I think the conspiracy theories do exactly what they are designed to do. They allow believers to focus on and be distracted by defeating the all powerful
entity instead of seeing problems clearly and therefore eschewing responsibility to solve real world issues. Once something becomes so powerful and so subtle,
there is little anyone can do.

Wait, isn't Aspartame that chemical in Diet Coke and Nutrasweet??? What does aspartame have to do with vaccinations?
Also, years ago they said TAB (the soft drink; personally, I used to love it), could give people cancer. You really don't see TAB around anymore, but what was in it... Was it aspartame?

tartarusrussell wrote: Great book on this very subject. Similar dynamics seem to work with religious beliefs, political convictions, etc. - the more a true believer is objectively proven wrong, the more deeply he or she ends up believing. So there must be people who can predict the future and move objects with their minds even though there aren't, miraculous healings must work even though they don't, the aliens or Jesus are coming next time for sure, somebody other than the known conspirators must have engineered the 9/11 attacks even though they didn't, etc. When you put your faith in unreason, reason becomes your worst enemy and being proven false just reinforces the unreasonable belief, most of the time.
