I have recently discovered the authors working out of this genre...Gina Ranalli, Andersen Prunty, Carlton Mellick III etc, and am very taken by the high skill
level these writers have. Anyone else taken by bizarro???? If so...which authors do you like and why?

I have heard good things about HELP! A BEAR IS EATING ME!, the comic novel by Mykle Hansen. I must get a copy of this soon!

Just to throw in my two cents. I recommend:
Help! A Bear is Eating Me! by Mykle Hansen - easily one of the funniest books I have ever read. Check out the link to my blog in my sig for a full review House of Houses by Kevin L Donihe - An amazing, AMAZING book! A story about a man who falls in love with his house but than the house apocalypse happens, taking away his sweetheart. The man then travels to house heaven to try and find his love. A touching, funny, thrilling, and beautiful book. I can't recommend it enough. Piecemeal June by Jordan Krall - A man's tarot reading cat is bring him back body parts of a sex doll. As he puts the parts together the doll comes to life. A really weird and unique piece of surreal horror. Jack and Mr Grin by Andersen Prunty - One of the most thrilling and horrifying books I've read in the past several years. A man has twenty-four hours to save his girlfriend from the bizarre "Mr Grin," who torments him via cell phone. A wonderful example of subtle horror and the power of suggestion. Anyone on this board is sure to dig it. For the record, Steve Aylett is part of the bizarro scene. He considers his Jeff Lint stories bizarro and he is one of the official authors on www.bizarrocentral.com

The only one I read was Piecemeal June by Jordan Krall. Definitely an interesting read. Kind of reminded me of the movie Love Object.
Sidebar: Jordan is a really cool guy and has kick-ass taste in movies. Anyone else who digs Dead Dudes in the House is my friend for life.
